Racine Participatory Defense is a community-led initiative dedicated to supporting families as they navigate the criminal legal system in Racine, Wisconsin. We stand alongside those impacted by systemic injustice, offering guidance, resources, and a platform to transform their stories into powerful tools for change. Through empathy, humanization, and organization, we work to dismantle systemic barriers and empower individuals to advocate for justice within and beyond the courtroom.
Our mission is grounded in the belief that every person deserves fair treatment, dignity, and the ability to participate in their defense. By engaging families, we build a stronger, more informed, and united community that challenges inequities and uplifts those facing the harsh realities of the criminal legal system.

We work to shift the narrative around those entangled in the criminal legal system by highlighting their humanity. By sharing stories and amplifying voices, we confront harmful stereotypes and advocate for compassionate, equitable treatment.
ORGANIZE
Through collective action, we empower families to take an active role in their defense and in broader justice reforms. By providing tools, training, and community support, we build networks of resilience and advocacy to challenge systemic injustices.
